— Director’s statement

I was like Sauro in the past: a person who kept everything inside, unable to talk, unable to cry, unable to love, arid as the desert. But when I met true love for the first time, also the past traumas I hadn't faced woke up along with love and stood as obstacles between me and reaching it. The idea of this film was born during a meditation where I saw the first images: a woman's painting, a desert and a man in love, and the final film is about how difficult but how necessary is the inner journey we make to change, to question ourselves, to forget the identity we thought we had, so as to truly allow us to open ourselves to the other, to know them deeply, and to end up truly loving them. It's a hard journey, but Love is the best hope I believe in.
