About the film
An Iranian man who has been living in Germany for six years returns to Iran after his long-distance relationship with a girl named Behnoush falls apart. Believing that the reason Behnoush ended their relationship was something one of her female friends in Iran told her, he gets close to the woman in question, pretending that they have happened to meet at a party by chance. After the party ends, the man ends up at the girl’s house. She has romantic fantasies about him, unaware that he is there seeking revenge and intends to kill her.

I made The Whispers because it had a simple yet profound screenplay that resonated deeply with my own romantic concerns. As soon as I read it, I told my friend, who had written the screenplay, that I would definitely make the film.
